A minimalist style kitchen hand-painted in a calm neutral shade, designed for an apartment in Holland Park renovated by Donald Insall Associates.
A floor to ceiling bay window at one end allows natural light to stream into the space and provides the perfect spot for the classic oval dining arrangement.
The cabinets with flat fronts and recessed grip rails keep the lines clean and a neat marble shelf running along the length of the functional wall allows space for a piece of artwork to hang above. This refined look is more elegant than a run of wall cabinets where sufficient storage is provided in the tall and base units.
The fresh turquoise of the central island's ceramic worktop adds a shot of colour and creates a bright focal point.
The warm neutral colour palette serves as a 'blank canvas' for the clients' collection of Asian art, and extends to the walls, wood flooring and the marble worktops. The worktop dresser unit with bi-fold doors and Asian inspired antiqued brass detail opens to give clear access to its contents when needed but keeps everything hidden away when closed.
