Our Story

Founded in 1999 by John Hetherington and Ben Newman, Hetherington Newman has grown out of a shared passion and expertise for creating premium quality, bespoke furniture and architectural joinery. Inspired by the beauty and precision of historical detail and experienced in working with modern materials and techniques, Hetherington Newman’s ethos is rooted in the belief that the products must stand the test of time, both structurally and aesthetically.

On celebrating 25 years in business Ben Newman says

‘We’re proud to have reached this significant milestone and thank all our clients & professional contacts for putting their faith in us to create a variety of high-quality joinery for their projects over the past years. While the business has grown considerably from where we started, our focus is to maintain our high standards & continue to offer a boutique personal service to clients whether it’s a kitchen, media wall, or a whole house project they’ve commissioned us for.’

Our emphasis is always on choosing the best quality materials, components and techniques for each project. Joined by Design Director, Mike Fetherston in 2008 the three directors personally oversee each project, maintaining the exceptionally high standards that discerning clients rightly expect.
