Project Designer – Knutsford WA16

We are involved with the designing, making and installation of domestic rooms with fitted furniture and architectural joinery. All our projects are bespoke therefore we tailor our work to fit our clients’ needs and tastes.

Our clients expect a thoroughly professional approach with outstanding design solutions, products and service. In this role you will therefore need to demonstrate a flair for creative solutions with both design and practicality in mind. You will need to have a fine eye and attention to detail and be extremely thorough in the design and delivery of your projects.

We use a wide variety of materials and design styles to meet our client’s brief and it is therefore important that you have a good understanding of historical furniture and joinery design and construction.

We work in both modern and period houses. Our schemes are designed to work in harmony with the architecture of the building therefore appreciation and knowledge of period detailing is important.

A knowledge of timber, timber technology, wood veneers, wood finishes/techniques, cabinet making and joinery construction methods essential.

A knowledge of quality kitchen appliances, work surfaces and sanitary ware would be beneficial.

An understanding of lighting design, and mechanical and electrical services required to be connected to fitted furniture and kitchens would be beneficial.

You will be responsible for representing Hetherington Newman in a highly professional manner. You will be at the forefront of communications with our clients and expected to be punctual, smart in appearance, courteous and confident.

Written and drawn communications need to of a very high standard. Grammar, punctuation, and spelling needs to be correct. Content must be clear, concise, and relevant.

You will need to be open to working collaboratively with other members of the design team in all aspects of the design process and project management.

You will be required to work to design standards and protocols set by the company.

You will be expected to continuously improve, evolve, and add design solutions to our internal component data base during your work.

Production Manager – Glossop SK13

We are an established company designing and making high-end bespoke furniture/architectural joinery and following continued growth over the last 10 years we are looking for a workshop foreman/manager to join our team.

The role is to manage a team of approximately 20 skilled/ semi skilled craftsmen/operatives in our modern, well equipped 15000sq/ft workshop where we manufacture a wide range of bespoke in-frame kitchens, bedrooms, vanity units, staircases and panelling. All items are made and prepared to an exceptionally high standard before being dispatched and installed by our team of fitters and painters.

Main responsibilities/duties will include

Must have experience working within a woodworking environment with knowledge of woodworking practices/construction methods including machining, bench work, cabinet making, finishing and quality control.

This is a key position within our company therefore we are looking for someone with the following attributes to ensure they are a suitable and successful candidate for this role.

Guide Salary – package is negotiable dependent upon experience.

Furniture Polisher – Glossop SK13

We are designers and makers of high-end bespoke furniture and architectural joinery and are looking for a paint sprayer to join our polishing team.

You will be part of a skilled team producing a wide range of high end products such as kitchens, bedrooms, panelling, stairs, vanity units in our well equipped, modern workshop.

All items are made, prepared and finished to a very high standard.

Ideally experienced in spraying 2 pack AC’s and PU’s in both clear and colours plus water based furniture paints and must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently.

Experience in high gloss painting and polishing an advantage although not essential.

40 hours per week plus overtime during busy periods.

Salary negotiable dependant on experience.

Cabinet maker/ Bench Joiner – SK13

Hetherington Newman, the award-winning designers and makers of bespoke furniture and architectural joinery are looking for a permanent bench joiner/cabinet maker.
Role involves making high end, high quality bespoke in frame kitchens, bedroom, studies, libraries, staircases, panelling, doors etc.
Applicants must be time served and experienced cabinet maker/bench joiner of great skill and understanding.

Applicants must have substantial experience in the making of all types of cabinets and furniture, have excellent attention to detail, be able to work quickly and accurately from working drawings and be able to resolve constructional and technical problems.

Experience in using all kinds of woodworking machinery essential.

Must be able to work a part of a team as well as independently.
